About the Role

OXIO is a pioneering telecom-as-a-service (TaaS) platform that's revolutionizing the industry. As a Legal Counsel, you'll play a vital role in supporting our legal department, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and facilitating smooth business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and manage a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and NDAs.
  • Ensure all documents comply with Mexican law and company policies.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations, specifically Privacy and Data protection.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle, including negotiation, execution, and renewal of agreements.
  • Maintain an organized contract management system.
  • Assist in managing litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel and gathering necessary documentation.
  • Support the legal team in dispute resolution and risk management.
  • Provide legal support and advice to various departments within the company.
  • Assist with internal investigations and audits as required.
  • Be the Single Point of Contact for the Police and Judicial authorities in Mexico, coordinate internally, and provide responses to Lawful intercept requests.
  • Be the Single Point of Contact for PROFECO and Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably within a tech startup.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican corporate and commercial law.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Proficiency in legal research and legal database management.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
