As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of buyers and support staff engaged in purchasing and distributing raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Establish and implement purchasing policies and procedures to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure delivery, quality, and price commitments.
- Monitor market trends and conditions to determine present and future material availability.
- Prepare and assign purchase orders and change notices to purchasing agents.
- Review and analyze requisitions, supply sources, supplies, quotations, terms, and contracts.
- Recommend major purchases of materials based on anticipated changes in prices or on unusual availability situations.
- Monitor performance and capabilities of vendors to ensure maintenance of delivery, quality, and price commitments.
- Develop and install clerical and office procedures and practices to improve efficiency.
- Research and select suppliers to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Work with Quality Assurance and vendors to improve the quality of purchased materials and reduce defects.
- Lead strategic procurement initiatives aligned with company goals.
- Provide leadership, direction, and administration to direct reports.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent number of years of experience.
- Excellent experience with vendor and customer relationship management.
- Demonstrated background with strategic supply chain management and planning.
- Years of purchasing/buyer experience required.
