Job Summary

Empresa is seeking an experienced Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineering Manager to lead our manufacturing engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all assigned duties are completed in a timely, quality-minded, and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct the Manufacturing Engineering function to optimize production methods and workplace layout utilizing lean principles and methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation regarding internal procedures for component production, including bills of material and manufacturing routings.
  • Establish and maintain time standards for all significant direct and indirect labor operations.
  • Coordinate corrective actions to improve manufacturability and process innovation.
  • Responsible for factory capacity at a machine level and coordinates with operations and planning to ensure optimum capacity utilization and efficiency.
  • Work with other departments to ensure schedules and capacities are adequate to support marketing requirements.
  • Research and develop utilization of innovative technology to improve product efficient manufacturability and cost.
Project Engineering
  • Stay current in and coordinate the introduction of innovative technologies, processes, and procedures to enhance and facilitate quality and productivity improvements.
  • Analyze and recommend ideas and drive changes to reduce/improve energy consumption/utilization.
  • Design and implement changes to plant layout utilizing lean principles for all equipment to improve productivity, quality, and operator safety.
  • Responsible for the overall project management and coordination for capital projects.
New Product Development
  • Respond to requests for quotes on all new products requested.
  • Ensure all manufacturing documentation is ready, on-time for the first production run.
  • Utilize Lean principles in process development and design for driving set up time reductions, waste elimination and standardized operating procedures.
  • Implement concurrent engineering practices to promote team building and focus on 'design for manufacturing' practices.
Tooling
  • Responsible for tooling design, supervision of fabrication, and procurement if needed to meet production needs.
  • Ensure all new production tooling is completed and available by production startup.
  • Maintain the tool log system for tracking and approving all controlled tools throughout the plant.
Financial and Budget Control
  • Work with the Operations leadership team to develop and execute a strategic long-range capital plan.
  • Approve all engineering purchase orders to assure assigned cost centers are maintained within the approved budget guidelines.
