About the Role

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Design Engineer to join the Aerostructures Engineering organization. In this role, you will be responsible for designing components and systems for aircraft nacelles using CATIA V5. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to resolve design problems, improve producibility, and develop new product designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop aircraft components using CATIA V5
  • Collaborate with teams to resolve design problems and improve producibility
  • Develop new product designs and engineering changes
  • Work with global teams to improve design and development processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronic, or related)
  • 8+ years of product design experience
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5 and Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • English (Advanced)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design experience in Engine Build Up, Thrust-Reverser, Fan Cowl, and Inlet components
  • Product development and design lead experience
  • Experience as project focal point with internal and external customers
  • Ability to code in C# or similar

Work Environment

This position will be based at our Mexicali facility and may require up to 10% travel as required.
