Key Responsibilities- Hazard Recognition: Identify and assess potential occupational hazards to ensure employee safety.
- Safety Control Design: Develop comprehensive controls and risk-management strategies for employee safety, encompassing areas such as mechanical safety, electrical safety, ergonomics, material handling, chemical safety, contractor & construction safety, and fire/life safety.
- Program Development: Evaluate trends in employee safety, both internal and external, and stay informed about regulatory requirements and industry advancements. Create and maintain major programs and processes to support line management in prioritizing employee safety.
- Facility Compliance: Ensure facilities adhere to safety practices and standards. Maintain accurate documentation of work results and prepare technical papers for publication when appropriate.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and direction to less experienced personnel, fostering their professional growth.
- Collaboration & Accountability: Work closely with colleagues to deliver employee safety services and contribute to the development and implementation of new safety initiatives. Take ownership of individual and team results, ensuring the successful achievement of objectives.
- Technical Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles and practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex safety information to various stakeholders.
