Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Construction Manager to oversee the construction of large and complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial building construction projects, particularly in the automotive sector.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing overall administrative and technical direction for one large, complex project or multiple small and medium-sized projects.
- Overseeing the total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Establishing project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy.
- Monitoring and controlling construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendents.
- Authorizing and approving all purchase requisitions, change requests, and other related documents.
- Maintaining official project logs and documentation files.
- Assisting with the implementation and interpretation of safety programs.
- Managing financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interests and maintain good relationships with clients.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A 5-year construction management or engineering degree or equivalent professional training and experience.
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in commercial construction activities, design, finance, and management.
- A thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, influence, and business acumen.
