About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Injection Operator to join our team at Niagara Bottling. As an Injection Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes, particularly in the areas of PET and HDPE injection equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, set up, start, and run injection equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform minor adjustments to injection equipment as directed, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Accurately complete and update information forms and logs, including injection preform and cap daily logs, destruction logs, and quality forms.
  • Recognize and report unsafe conditions and actions, adhering to plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operations.
  • Perform visual and mechanical quality checks to ensure production meets quality standards.
  • Maintain general housekeeping in all areas of production, including break rooms and rest rooms.
  • Identify and define the difference between Vpet, Rpet, and HDPE resins, and be able to identify parts safe for grinding and reintroduction to the resin system.
  • Maintain quality requirements in accordance with company standards, accurately filling out inspection sheets based on overall production quality.
  • Recognize and report all quality defects immediately.
  • Work in multiple areas of production with minimal supervision, perform relief duties when required, and troubleshoot minor production equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team as necessary to resolve equipment issues.
  • Understand computer systems, including Shotscope, Electric80, Ignition, and others.
  • Comprehend line flow and manufacturing process to maximize throughput.
  • Communicate issues clearly and concisely.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a position similar to this role.
  • Experience operating multiple manufacturing machines.
  • Preferred qualifications include 4 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment, 4 years of experience working in a position similar to this role, and 2 years of experience managing people/projects.

Education and Certification

Minimum required: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: Associate's Degree.
