Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for managing and directing product engineering initiatives in our plant efficiently, in accordance with corporate policies, procedures, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure that new product launches and current product enhancements are incorporated into specifications and procedures.
  • Collaborate with all departments of the plant in the identification and solution of problems related to suppliers, product, or process.
  • Ensure that the information released for the manufacture of plant products is aligned to global design standards, is up to date, and complies with industry design, market, and industry standards and requirements.
  • Responsible for the effective implementation of changes in the engineering of product support in production.
  • Responsible for coordinating the launch of new products at the plant.
  • Test and troubleshoot materials, design, and functionality.
  • Responsible for the execution of special contract projects.
  • Perform detailed documentation to track project and design process.
  • Responsible for the CNC programming department.
  • Responsible for maintaining the reliability of information, updating, and maintenance of the master data, bills of materials, engineering drawings, and CNC programs of the products manufactured in the plant.
  • In charge of creating and reviewing technical drawings, plans, and specifications and adapting designs for manufacturing process.
  • Responsible to make available the master information of the products to productive areas as well as to all the different areas that require it.
  • Responsible for controlling access to product information.
  • Develop the talent, skills, and knowledge of the engineering department.
  • Provide guidance to product engineering areas, making sure department activities are aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance to product engineering to ensure conformity of products to international certifications and industrial standards.
  • Be the engineering link between local engineering resources and global design centers.
  • Plan the total engineering budget and be responsible for its approval and operational adherence to the budget.
  • Review project specifications and requirements to ensure product design and manufacturing conformance.
  • Responsible for achieving the efficiency objectives during the start-up phase of the implementation.
  • Project Management for Strategic Customers (Data Centers).
  • Contract Engineering Design Support.
  • Global ECN implementation.
  • New Product Introduction.
  • Critical skills training.
  • Detailed design (3D Models) for New Products.
  • Responsible for supervising the implementation of engineering changes, as well as the timely follow-up of department metrics.
  • Generate action plans to improve department KPIs.
  • Responsible for the identification of new processes, machines, and/or tools needed to support new products.
  • Provide support and guidance to Department Managers in all engineering functions.
  • Implement and enforce technical and administrative procedures and policies to ensure the proper functioning of the Engineering Department.
Requirements
  • Technical knowledge of operation and operation of HVAC equipment, preferably Chillers equipment.
  • Knowledge of the UL 1995 standard.
  • Technical knowledge of control systems, interpretation of electrical diagrams, electric motors, power electronics.
  • Interpretation of engineering specifications for mechanical, electrical, and pressure components.
  • Understanding engineering change control processes, bills of materials, control of revisions of drawings.
  • Knowledge of CAD Design Processes, PTC Creo, and Control of PTC Windchill version.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively execute tasks under a pressure environment.
  • Ability to handle tension between team members and in delicate situations.
  • Flexibility during times of change.
  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
  • Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
