Capital Assets Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Capital Assets Accountant to join our team. This role involves controlling and monitoring construction in process of capital-asset projects, reconciling balances at the Sub AR level, and coordinating with corporate on project capitalization.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent Excel knowledge, and experience with Oracle or similar accounting software.

1. Control and monitor construction in process of capital-asset projects.
2. Reconcile balances at the Sub AR level during the month.
3. Coordinate with corporate on project capitalization.
4. Review requisitions for purchase orders and assign location, account, and cost center as applicable.
5. Approve purchase orders for capital projects.
6. Work with annual capital projects budget and provide forecast to corporate.
7. Address internal and external corporate requirements related to capital projects and fixed assets.
8. Maintain physical inventory of fixed assets and coordinate a physical inventory every 2 years.
9. Perform month-end closing and reconciliation between Subledger and General Ledger.
10. Register accounting policies and address audit requirements related to fixed assets.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivots, lookups, grouping, and subtotals.
• Familiarity with tax requirements regarding tax depreciation and treatment of fixed assets.
• Action-oriented and able to work under stress.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Basic English proficiency (50%).
• Oracle expertise is a plus.

$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
