Chief Accounting Officer

Job Overview

The Plant Accountant will play a vital role in executing regular month-end close activities, ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled, and distributing reports related to US and Canada plants, specifically in the Inventory/Cost of Sales areas. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager and require significant interaction with other departments, business disciplines, and international operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare manual journal entries with supporting documentation based on US GAAP, demonstrating strong attention to detail when performing calculations and preparing entries.
• Collaboration: Interact with the finance team for review of month-end journal entries.
• Reconciliation: Prepare timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations, identifying root causes of discrepancies.
• Reporting: Prepare and distribute recurring financial reports (daily, weekly, or monthly as required).
• Accounting Procedures: Demonstrate consistency in following accounting procedures.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits.
• Continuous Improvement: Assist with continuous improvements initiatives.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: BS/BA in Accounting is required.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounting is necessary.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications.
• Linguistic Ability: Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a requirement.
• Personal Qualities: Strong attention to detail, confidence in challenging the status quo, ability to go fast, desire to help others go faster, outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
• Preferred Qualification: Experience with Oracle is preferred.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
