Job Title: Corrections Senior Advisor

SGI Global LLC is seeking a highly skilled Corrections Senior Advisor to support the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Mexico City, Mexico.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide technical assistance in supporting, assisting, and advising INL and the Government of Mexico (GOM) in the continuing development and implementation of a Prison Accreditation Program. This includes conducting diagnostic, follow-up, and pre-audit visits to federal and state correctional facilities in Mexico, assessing conditions and operations, and providing reports on each prison visited.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance and advice to Mexican corrections partners on best practices in prison management.
  • Develop and train GOM staff in prison accreditation program standards and prepare facilities for the accreditation audit process.
  • Attend domestic and international conferences relevant to INL's Corrections Program.
  • Participate in outreach activities with domestic and international law enforcement communities to increase awareness of INL programs and policies.
  • Prepare background materials and reports used by INL, including speeches, briefings, and testimony on corrections.
Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Spanish FSI level 3/3.
  • English FSI level 4/4.
  • Bachelor's degree in international relations, law enforcement, public policy, criminal justice, social sciences, or related field, or Associate degree with five (5) years related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of State (DOS) MRPT security clearance.
  • Graduation from a U.S. federal or state corrections or probation officer academy certified by a POST commission or equivalent.
