Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. In this role, you will work closely with the Category Management team to identify cost savings opportunities and drive process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and select suppliers that meet our organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
- Generate and lead medium spend initiatives to improve yearly savings and trade working capital.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions through Ariba, ensuring compliance with our global procurement policy.
- Drive spend analysis and ensure clear spend reporting by reclassifying vendor spend to the proper taxonomy.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Data team to build reporting and business intelligence that drives and accelerates savings initiatives.
- Facilitate RFP enablement with category managers, including data extraction, crunching, and coordination with vendors.
- Lead and execute strategy for sub-categories alongside the CM.
- Partner with the Category Manager to ensure contracts are loaded into our CLM tool and drive spend under contract KPI.
- Research categories and provide market intelligence to enable economics analytics.
- Generate financial and savings reporting using Wave.
- Engage and enable indirect stakeholders on how to effectively engage with the team and utilize solutions/agreements.
- Analyze spend data at a part number level to identify cost reduction, standardization, or simplification opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- +4 years of relevant experience in indirect procurement, prior experience in professional services or logistics is a plus.
- Deep understanding of RFx processes and source-to-pay principles.
- Ability to perform spend analysis and rationalize tail spend.
- CLM principles and ability to read/negotiate SOWs and contracts.
- Strong MS Office and advanced Excel or VBA skills required.
- Microsoft Power Apps or other data tools preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and business judgment.
- Proven experience working with KPIs and metrics.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and streamline processes.
