About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead our New Product Introduction (NPI) team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering department, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of new products and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement new product designs, processes, and procedures.
- Coordinate the development of all documentation related to new product introduction, including but not limited to item master, BOMs, routings, flowcharts, PFMEA, control plan, ERP system, etc.
- Ensure the staffing of the Cross-Functional Team, build, and monitor the Master Schedule, to achieve the goals of the schedule.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of new products, technologies, and manufacturing methods.
- Develop and implement cost reduction activities.
- Create technical documentation (drawings, bill of materials, specifications, standard operation sheets, OMS, ODS, etc.).
- Take ownership of time studies and movements and standardize operations.
- Calculate and control optimal capacities of production lines and fabrication processes.
- Verify time standards and calculation of earn hours per family products.
- Use problem-solving tools when needed (PDCA, A3, EWO, 8D, etc.).
- Sustain sharing of best practices as a result of internal and external benchmarking activities.
- Evaluate and modify layouts of production lines and production cells.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies, processes, and procedures to optimize efficiency, productivity, and quality standards as they relate to new products.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the availability of necessary resources and technical support.
- Manage the manufacturing engineering budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechatronic, or Electronic Engineering.
- 4-10 years of experience leading projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Business-level fluency in English.
- Proven record of accomplishment of successful change management achievements, implementing and managing continuous improvements and cost reduction programs.
- Strong knowledge of elements of continuous improvement, line balancing, capacity calculations, planning, and layout.
- Strong communication skills.
- Risk Management.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work effectively, adapting to changing conditions.
- Original thinking and an ability to identify problems and generate creative solutions.
