Job Title: Quality Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to lead our quality assurance and control efforts in alignment with Unilever standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have experience building and leading high-performing teams, participating in projects related to new site openings, and implementing quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy Unilever's Quality strategy and goals through site-specific projects and targets.
  • Provide quality leadership to influence site Q culture through activities to create passion for products and brands, visibility for quality, and coaching of site leadership.
  • Build quality and consumer safety skills and knowledge through coaching and training of factory team.
  • Ensure Unilever's Quality Management System (QMS) is implemented locally to assure consumer safety and overall quality of the final product being manufactured.
  • Verify compliance of site operations to Unilever's QMS.
  • Enforce FDA and Health Canada requirements as defined by law.
  • Point person for internal and external Quality audits (Unilever, BRC, ISO, FDA, HC).
  • Support savings initiatives by ensuring Quality is not sacrificed.
  • Drive waste reduction by focusing on Quality defects and non-conformances.
  • Be the champion for Quality pillar management-WCM with the purpose to increase the operating performance of the company and achieve better competitiveness.
  • Ensure complete, accurate, and on-time submission of annual Quality Verification program self-assessment.
  • Develop, implement, and update site HACCP plan and pre-requisite programs and ensure mitigation of consumer safety risks through HACCP validation and on-going verification.
  • Implement pre-requisite programs required to support site HACCP plan including validation and ongoing verification requirements (e.g., pest controls, allergen management, hygienic controls, etc.).
  • Ensure implementation and on-going compliance to requirements of category/technology GMP that are applicable to the site.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Engineering, chemistry, biology, or equivalent degree and experience.
  • Master's degree desirable.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience participating in projects related to new site openings or similar.
  • Capabilities: Digital, automation, agile, data & analytics capabilities, Business Acumen, Influencing.

  • Experience with SAP QM and specifications in alignment with applicable requirements.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

As a Quality Manager at Unilever, you will need to have a strong understanding of quality management systems, FDA requirements, and HACCP principles. You will also need to have experience building and leading high-performing teams, participating in projects related to new site openings, and implementing quality management systems. Additionally, you will need to have strong capabilities in digital, automation, agile, data & analytics, business acumen, and influencing, as well as behaviors such as pioneering, empowerment, owner's mindset, start-up mindset, change and talent catalyst, servant and inspiring leadership, and D&I mindset.
