The ETO Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the design and release of customizations to computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units. This role requires collaboration across disciplines, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities- Create customizations of standard computer room air conditioning (CRAC) products as per customer specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement custom solutions.
- Perform engineering design verifications using traditional engineering methods and CAD programs.
- Develop solutions to complex problems where little or no precedence exists.
- Review completed CAD and schematic drafting to verify design intent.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in an engineering field.
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical design.
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team.
- Excellent project management skills and communication skills.
- Preferred 4-8 years of experience in an HVAC related engineering field.
- Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release).
- Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles.
- Understanding of manufacturing limitations, formed sheet metal, and formed copper tubes.
- Understanding of electrical schematic layout and creation.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university.
- Light Lifting (5 Ibs.25 Ibs.).
- Frequent Standing.
- Frequent kneeling / crawling / stooping.
- Frequent bending / twisting.
- Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, cut resistant sleeves).
