About the Role

This position reports to the Procurement Manager and is responsible for providing specific functional expertise to help businesses improve their operations with respect to trade and transport.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to develop and implement global transport and trade initiatives and track related Key Performance Indicators.

The work model for the role is hybrid, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance.

This role is contributing to the NEMA Motors business in Mexico.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Initiate Purchase Orders (PO) in system, according to Purchase Requisitions in accordance with standard procedures, confirm delivery with suppliers, monitor and track supplier performance against PO requirements.
  2. Submit and confirm new Purchase Order.
  3. Align supplier orders with customer requirements (based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) content, quality, delivery and price.
  4. Execute Exception Message (Pull in, Push out and Cancellation).
  5. Attend internal and external meetings to solve different issues to place a Purchase Order or solve a material shortage.
  6. Strong collaboration with internal customer (Planning & Fulfillment, Production Team) and supplier (Strategic Purchasing, R&D, AP) to solve different issues and ensure receipt of material on time.
  7. Logistics coordination for domestic shipments and tracking of international shipments.
  8. Validation of basic material master information parameters (LT, MOQ, SPQ and safety stock).
  9. Forecast creation and analysis.
  10. Resolving material shortage issues (discrepancies, customer requirements, escalation, etc.).
  11. Analysis of critical materials (Identify material to be a candidate for a logistics model, second source or safety stock adjustment).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience as materials planner, Purchasing or related role.
  • Knowledge in ERP, SAP, Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages is a plus (Power BI, Visual Basic, C++).
  • 20% local trips.
  • Advanced conversational English is a must.
