Job Summary:

We're seeking a skilled Plastic Process Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for developing part and injection mold cost estimates, identifying alternatives and their tradeoffs, managing project schedules, and driving team members on multiple concurrent injection mold replacements to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement plastic tool design and evaluation strategies to review mold repair requests and determine the feasibility of repairs.
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • Collaborate with internal engineers and external suppliers to resolve part design and manufacturability issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, incorporating new knowledge into Rockwell's design processes.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in plastics processing and design, interacting with experts in new areas of these technologies.
  • Participate in commodity-level meetings with partners in Strategic Sourcing, Quality, and Production to identify opportunities for improvements in tool spend and strategic partnerships with suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman toolmaker/designer with a minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent functional knowledge in areas of plastics processing, part and tool design.
  • Experience in project management, including determining project scope, developing and managing project budgets, developing project specifications, interfacing with project stakeholders, and managing suppliers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present technical information effectively.

Travel Requirements:

This role may require occasional travel (5-10% international, 5-10% domestic).

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000, depending on location and experience.
