Corning is seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for solving complex technical problems, supporting continuous improvement activities, and driving process understanding and cost reduction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day problem-solving support to production, development, and research operations
- Train operators and trades personnel on new equipment and processes
- Use rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps
- Function as a team member or team leader on focused projects
- Troubleshoot material, process, and equipment issues, identify root cause, and implement corrective action
- Implement and document material, process, and/or equipment changes
- Use simple statistical tools and Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem-solving and process improvement; Use more sophisticated statistical tools and DOE techniques in problem-solving and process/product improvement
- Assure quality and repeatability of processes and products
- Support new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training
- Assure safety of operators and equipment and Comply with safety and environmental regulations
- Develop SME knowledge of material, process, and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering
- Execute cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC) projects in line with business objectives
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience or equivalent experience (exceptional case)
- Yellow Belt Training
- Track record of delivering results
- Demonstrated knowledge in a technical field
- Project team membership
- Summer Intern experience/progressive experience within the field of engineering
- Green Belt Certification
- Project Team Leadership
- Shift supervisory experience
