Job Summary

Schaeffler is seeking a highly skilled Customs Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our global trade team, you will be responsible for evaluating free trade agreements, tariffs, duties, taxes, and non-tariff regulations and their impact on our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the current processes based on the Law and corporate guidelines
  • Support in adapting and monitoring the processes according to the Law and headquarter
  • Establish rules and parameters in One Core to avoid penalties in import/export declaration forms
  • Evaluate the utilization of IT (One Core) and SAP tools, excluding GTS-SAP
  • Maintain effective and timely communication with different departments
  • Monitor the development of new plans and/or strategies to improve established processes
  • Provide legal advice to internal areas of Schaeffler to align processes before any external audit on Foreign Trade matters

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Foreign Trade and/or Customs
  • Solid knowledge of foreign trade laws (Custom law, foreign trade law, Harmonized Tariff Schedule law for imports and exports and its respective set of rules)
  • Understanding of requirements in terms of free trade agreements and trade treaties
  • Calculation of taxes and application of tariffs and non-tariff restrictions
  • Knowledge of general rules of foreign trade and customs
  • IMMEX & Virtual operations knowledge
  • Eighth Rule & PROSEC knowledge
  • Knowledge of fixed asset regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Background in Material Resource Planning (SAP-GTS)
  • Advanced verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English
