Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at Nearshorecoders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer security and experience with security technologies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate phishing incidents, escalate MSSP and EDR issues, and perform daily security-related tasks.
  • Collaborate with the team to prevent security breaches and anticipate potential security threats.
  • Monitor security access and maintain relevant data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cyber security and develop scripts, tools, and procedures to automate scans and assessments.
  • Conduct vulnerability testing and risk analyses to assess security and perform internal and external security audits.
  • Analyze security breaches to identify causes and update incident responses and disaster recovery plans.
  • Participate in the definition, planning, implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of security measures, policies, and protocols controls.
  • Provide insights on the effectiveness of security policies, incident responses, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Review security procedure violations and provide training to prevent recurrence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, programming, or related field.
  • Training certifications are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the industry, including security administration and familiarity with cyber security technologies and standards.
  • Proficient in a broad array of security software applications and tools.
  • Experience with penetration testing and techniques.
  • Demonstrated understanding of computer-related security systems, including firewalls, IDPS concepts, endpoint security, encryption, and password protection and authentication.
  • Understanding and background with Intrusion Detection Systems and SIEM products.
  • Background in Incident Response.
  • Knowledge and understanding of application security.
  • Experience in installing security software and documenting security issues.
  • Comfortable working with all types of operating systems, including Linux, Windows, iOS, Android, etc.
