About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Security Manager to join our team at IKEA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our customers, employees, and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety and security policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and incident investigations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement training programs to enhance safety and security awareness and skills.
- Manage and maintain safety and security systems, including fire alarm, fire extinguishing, CCTV, and alarm systems.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities and organizations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to stay informed about industry best practices.
- Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and conduct regular drills and training exercises.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on safety and security procedures and protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in the real estate operations field, preferably in shopping centers, with 3+ years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of safety and security issues, including fundamentals of criminal and civil law.
- Ability to design and deliver comprehensive training programs and materials.
- Risk assessment and accident prevention skills, knowledge of firefighting skills.
- Strong leadership skills, judgment, and ability to delegate responsibility with authority.
- Proven analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Proven communication and organizational skills.
- Commercial awareness and customer service-oriented approach.
- Financial responsibility and budgeting experience.
- Ability to substitute the Operations Manager in case of their absence and work in shifts as a Duty Manager covering all opening hours of the center.
