This role will support an educational support system (ESS) platform for K-12 schools across North America.

Now the Ruby team includes 100+ professionals working on over 15 projects across various domains, such as healthcare, healthy eating, advertising, insurance, music, food delivery, modeling, and auto business.

Our tech stack includes Ruby 2.5+, Rails 5+, Elixir, Go, Docker, k8s, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Clickhouse, PostgreSQL, AWS, GCP, React, React Native, Angular 2+.

We're looking for a skilled Ruby on Rails developer to join our team and contribute to the development of a personalized learning platform for K-12 schools across North America.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, preferably with experience in Ruby on Rails.

Additionally, the candidate should have proficiency in SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Vue.

Knowledge of testing frameworks, such as RSpec and MiniTest, is also required.

The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing our solution set with a commitment to deliver high-quality code to production
  • Participating in the full cycle of software application and business logic development
  • Participating in demo sessions, Scrum ceremonies, and Idea Talks
  • Conducting code reviews and writing code tests
  • If desired, participation in technical interviews and/or mentoring, knowledge sharing in dev2dev/meetup format (including external events)

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of practical experience in software development and Ruby on Rails
  • Proficiency with SQL in PostgreSQL, including query optimization and database design
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Vue
  • A strong knowledge of testing frameworks (RSpec, MiniTest)
  • A B1 level of English or higher, and experience in communicating with English-speaking customers
  • A desire to improve their skills and keep abreast of the latest technological advances in Ruby on Rails development
