Key Responsibilities:

As a DRAM Design Engineer, you will contribute to the development of new memory products by assisting with the overall design, layout, and optimization of memory circuits, including:

  • Device Design and Schematic Development: Participate in new circuit conception and schematic design and development.
    • Circuit Simulations: Perform circuit simulations using standard industry simulators.
      • Process Integration and Model Performance: Work with Process Integration to set model performance targets.
        • Reliability Verification: Responsible for reliability verification.

Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing layout, including:

  • Layout and Floor Planning: Manage floor-planning process, including placement and routing optimization.
    • Standard Cell Development: Assist in standard cell development.
      • Design Rules Optimization: Optimize design rules for cost, performance, and functionality.

You will also be responsible for defining array blocks and pitch cells, verifying proper word line and digit line lengths, choosing transistor sizes and types for pitch cells, and managing verification processes, including:

  • Verification Processes: Perform silicon versus schematic versus layout verification on required circuits.
    • Simulation and Modeling: Responsible for simulation, Verilog and parasitic modeling.
      • Silicon Design Validation: Assist in silicon design validation, reticule experiments, and tape-out revisions as needed.

Furthermore, you will maintain technical expertise and provide training, including:

  • Technical Expertise and Training: Aid in communicating best known practices to the entire department.
    • Documentation and Presentations: Prepare detailed documentation as required.
      • Design Forums and Education: Contribute and participate in global design forums.
        • Continuing Education and Competitor Analysis: Participate in continuing education and competitor analysis.
          • Recruiting and Interviewing: Participate in recruiting, and interviewing of new candidates.

You will also contribute to cross-group communication to work towards standardization and group success, including:

  • Cross-Group Communication: Work with Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, CAD, and Product Engineering groups to ensure proper manufacturability of product.
    • Proactive Solicitation: Proactively solicit input from various groups, including Standard cell development, simulation, voltages.

Finally, you will manage and develop projects and team (leads), including:

  • Project Management: Plan and organize projects and resource requirements, including planning, and scheduling activities and tasks, and management of designers and layout designers.
    • Communication and Progress Tracking: Serve as the main point of contact for communication for design, layout, process, and testing issues for projects.
      • Project Status Reports: Track progress, monitor when items are completed and what still needs to be done.
        • Design Reviews and Presentations: Prepare project status reports for upper management.
          • Project Planning and Execution: Plan and hold design reviews to discuss progress and decisions made about projects.
