We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Engineer to join our team at Liberty Specialty Markets. As a key member of our Casualty Underwriting team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and risk analysis to enable accurate and profitable underwriting decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct desk-based risk appraisals for assigned lines of business, including preparation of plant/process/product descriptions, assessment of design, hazards, and mitigation measures, and loss estimate calculations.
- Perform on-site risk engineering surveys for existing and prospective clients, producing summary or detailed marketing risk engineering survey reports as required.
- Assume ownership of allocated accounts, attending surveys, following up on key recommendations, and ensuring risk engineering information is up to date.
- Provide technical input on claims, reviewing reports and conducting site visits to identify areas for claims mitigation and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of Casualty lines of business, including process technology, loss prevention, construction, and other related issues.
- Participate in business development and marketing activities, working closely with claims, underwriting, and other stakeholders to promote Liberty's integrated business unit approach.
- Significant relevant experience in General (non-Life) Insurance industry or aligned role with background in Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Loss Prevention, Construction, Risk Management, or Project Management.
- Excellent working knowledge of PC-based systems and applications, including Outlook, Microsoft Office, and database systems.
- Bachelor's degree in technical discipline, such as Chemical, Process, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
