Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for maintaining 100% compliance with emergency response plan requirements and prevention plans.
Main Responsibilities- Maintain legal compliance related to emergency response plans and prevention plans to avoid emergencies and ensure effective responses.
- Implement and maintain Business Continuity Management (BCM) in accordance with corporate guidelines.
- Implement operational controls to support management systems and external party requirements, including FM Global, Civil Protection, and Corporate.
- Maintain legal compliance with Mexican law and corporate requirements, including STPS and Civil protection regulations.
- Organize, train, and conduct Gembas audits for fire brigades in all areas.
- Develop, communicate, and obtain authorization for the updated emergency response plan.
- Implement and administer Business Continuity Management (BCM).
- Promote firefighting concepts and develop drills exercises plans (evacuation, fire, spill, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with FM-Global Requirements, including emergency response procedures, red tags, and fire system out-of-service processes.
- Support high-risk work activities, such as confined space entry, hot works, and hazardous materials handling.
- Collaborate on chemical management in accordance with corporate requirements (N2580 and CD03800).
- Support contractors' safety programs and provide training as a certified instructor.
- Achieve and maintain external certifications, such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Responsible for ensuring associates understand and apply EHS policies, including:
- Fulfilling safety procedures applicable to their area.
- Actively participating in scheduled training and tests based on job risk levels.
- Supporting safety programs and awareness initiatives related to HSE activities.
- Basic English proficiency (70%).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in HSE matters or 3+ years in BOSCH process.
- Knowledge of Mexican safety and environmental laws and regulations focused on emergency topics and BCM.
- Proven ability to train others, demonstrate proactive behavior, teamwork, and good communication skills.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Basic knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 (internal auditor).
- Certification in firefighting and problem-solving.
- Leadership competencies and commitment to Environmental, Health, and Safety management systems.
- Result-oriented approach.
- NOM 002 and Business Recovery Plan familiarity.
The salary for this position is estimated at $60,000 per year, considering the local market and industry standards.
