Position Overview

As a Cloud Operations Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering expert technical support and execution capabilities for the design, testing, deployment, and maintenance of production services within the technical operations framework.
  • Ensuring consistency in technical and procedural practices within a team dedicated to the implementation and support of products, systems, and networks.
  • Participating in initiatives aimed at reducing incident occurrences and collaborating with frontline operations to enhance service recovery times.
  • Following established implementation processes to guarantee that all operability aspects are met while maintaining or improving existing service levels.
  • Assisting in the formulation of operational standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborating closely with various operational, project, development, and product teams to ensure that ongoing service delivery and support meet agreed-upon service levels.
  • Develop and Deliver: Utilizing modern operational and development practices, you will engage in comprehensive operational support, monitoring, automation, and the delivery of high-quality solutions for the team.
  • Team Collaboration: Working in a cooperative team environment, you will share insights, appreciate diverse perspectives, and partner with cross-functional and remote teams.
  • Agile Mindset: With a strong sense of urgency and a preference for dynamic environments, you will deliver solutions within strict timelines.

Candidate Profile:

You are an ideal candidate if you possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with at least one AWS certification (preferably AWS SysOps Administrator).
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps Engineer on the AWS Cloud platform.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal guidance from senior engineers.
  • High proficiency in automation, system monitoring, and cloud-native applications.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest levels of uptime, including server patching and SSL certificate management, while implementing system-wide corrections to prevent issue recurrence.
  • The capability to triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues using key performance indicators and advanced techniques.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining documentation related to application services, infrastructure details, recovery procedures, and root cause analyses.
  • Proactive monitoring of service availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Willingness to participate in periodic on-call duties as part of the team on a rotational basis.
  • Experience with SQL, Windows Servers, load balancers, Linux, and AWS services, including Docker, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CodeDeploy, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure components such as routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networks.
  • Experience with tools like Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Datadog, and CloudWatch.
