Job Purpose

The successful candidate will play a key role in the effective application of financial crime risk management and prevention policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include contributing to the analysis of cases and the timely implementation of Group and local regulators' policies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conducting timely and effective investigations of assigned cases in line with agreed reporting requirements and service levels.
  • Managing daily local Investigations operations, including searches.
  • Preparing high-quality investigative narratives.
  • Ensuring comprehensive recommendations are completed and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) are produced at the end of each investigation.
  • Identifying potential law or regulation violations, such as structuring or suspicious activity across non-cooperating countries.
  • Participating in feedback loop meetings as required and preparing materials for these sessions.
  • Providing information as needed to the team leader.

Requirements

  • Compliance and/or audit/risk experience covering a wide range of business areas.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including FATCA regulations.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment and HSBC's expectations, as well as internal regulations, codes, and HSBC Group.
  • Ability to find solutions, with analytical and argumentation capabilities to support findings.
  • Capacity to work in coordination with other team members and deliver results on time.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations skills.
  • University degree (Law, Business Administration, Accounting, etc.).
  • Advanced English language skills (writing and conversation).
  • Working knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Transaction (FT) issues in the financial services industry.
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in prioritizing competing demands and effective communication.
  • Dealing with regulatory issues experience.
