Job Summary
At HITACHI ENERGY MEXICO, S.A. DE C.V., we are seeking a skilled Materials Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain department, you will be responsible for the timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality materials, supplies, and resources necessary for our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure materials and supplies through effective coordination with suppliers and category managers.
- Ensure the availability of inventory to meet forecasted demand and optimize on-time delivery, lead time to customer, and net working capital.
- Develop and implement inventory policies based on ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management, and supplier agreements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to optimize cost and drive cost savings projects.
- Monitor and control the Procure-to-Pay process and perform activities such as escalation and expediting as required.
- Support and lead the Sales and Operations Planning process.
- Partner with critical internal and external suppliers to align forecasting of materials.
- Initiate continuous improvement programs to support planning and fulfillment strategy.
Requirements:
- Preferred purchasing or planning experience.
- Preferred SAP or similar ERP experience in MM and PP module.
- Ability to work cross-functionally within a global value chain.
- Independent analysis/decision-making capabilities.
- Above average Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong communicator and teamwork-oriented.
- Organized and exhibits a sense of urgency when necessary.
- Takes initiative to drive projects and lead others.
- Employs root cause analysis approach.
- Strong sense of customer focus and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree for entry-level and up to 2 years of experience.
- Experience within operations or supply chain within electrical equipment manufacturing for the energy sector is a plus.
- Exposure to high-volume – high-mix environment is preferred.
