As a key member of the Advanced Manufacturing team at Quantum Corporation, we are seeking an Electrical Test Specialist to support PCBA manufacturing by working closely with contract manufacturers, manufacturing engineering, design engineering, and supply chain.

This role will cover electrical and electro-mechanical components with a focus on PCBA manufacturing, test (ICT and Functional), quality, and qualification to ensure an acceptable part quality.

The ideal candidate will be based in our Zapopan office and will have a hybrid working schedule, with at least 3 days per week spent in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for tests, qualification, and failure analysis of PCBA's
  • Develop Functional Tests for PCBA's
  • Familiar with ICT, AIO and general PCBA line equipment
  • Work with Contract Manufacturer and Engineering to debug/resolve PCBA Issues
  • Ability to debug PCBA's to the component level
  • Responsible for overseeing PCBA production at a Contract Manufacturer
  • Work with Engineering to design and launch new PCBA's
  • Launch new PCBA's at Contract Manufacturer
  • Debug problems working with engineering, cross-functional team members and suppliers
  • Design PCBA's to support test
  • Documenting PCBA verification test plans
Requirements:
  • Be assigned small projects and collaborate with other engineers on larger projects
  • Engineering Tech Degree + 3 years of related experience or 5+ years of equivalent experience
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Good communication skills: written, verbal, & presentation
  • Enjoy working in a team environment & able to work independently at times
  • Work primarily in office/lab and Contract Manufacturer Facility
  • Experience debugging, especially Off the Shelf hardware
  • Experience setting up/evaluating/supporting systems including: Motherboards, CPU's, Memory, Interface cards, BIOS configurations
  • Proficient with MS Word/Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSEE/ECE + 3 years experience
  • Experience with AC Power and thermal measurement tools
  • Linux experience (or other *nix experience) including test script generation and problem debugging on Linux based systems
  • Capable of interfacing with vendors in a professional manner and in accordance with Quantum's values and business interests
  • Support PCBA product BOM (build of materials) release/management via Agile database
  • Familiarity with Jira
