Security Specialist Associate

Job Overview:
As an Associate Security Specialist at McDermott, you will utilize existing security procedures to resolve routine or standard problems. You will receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team. Your conceptual knowledge of security theories, practices, and procedures will be applied to ensure the safety and security of our facilities and personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Security Manager in meeting site security needs.
• Supervise security guard personnel and collaborate with area QHSES personnel.
• Work with Security Guard Supervisors and Security Specialists to apply and execute effective security plans.
• Maintain close relationships with designated project line supervision.
• Recognize deficiencies and suggest improvements to existing processes.
• Assist in the implementation of specific and measurable goals.
• Review weekly guard schedules to ensure all posts are covered as required.
• Liaise between employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
• Perform scheduled patrols and random checks of designated areas to prevent security breaches.
• Enforce Security Standard Operating Procedures to protect McDermott facilities, personnel, and assets.
• Conduct investigations and produce high-quality reports.
• Maintain security equipment and document findings when damaged or in need of maintenance.
• Defuse disturbances in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or Military or 1 year as a Security Guard Supervisor.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Degree or equivalent industry-recognized qualification.
• Must have satisfactory job performance evaluations if an internal promotion.
• Must hold a valid driver's license.
• Must possess all state/federal/national security guard license(s) applicable to the area of operation.
• Experience with the Microsoft Office platform.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work extended or extra shifts when required.
• Must pass Fit for Duty as required.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• For USA-based operations, must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
• Demonstrates the ability to read and write comprehensive reports.
• Knowledge of security and safety principles and practices.
• Experience with access control platforms, video management systems, and incident management applications/software is preferred.
