Senior Regional Risk Manager, Transportation Risk Management

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Regional Risk Manager to join our Transportation Risk and Compliance team at Servicios Comerciales Amazon Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and monitoring risk mitigation strategies to improve the customer experience and protect our brand.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Execute Risk Mitigation Strategies: Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and assess risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
- Transportation Compliance Audit Strategy: Develop and manage Amazon's transportation compliance audit strategy for the LATAM Last Mile business, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Partner with transportation business leaders to proactively identify compliance regulatory business opportunities and propose innovative approaches and risk mitigation strategies for solving them.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead and develop a team of risk assessment managers, mentoring them to develop their skills, encouraging new professional experiences, and satisfying their career goals.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate project issues and statuses in a concise, compelling, and professional manner to business partners and leadership executives.
Our Transportation Risk and Compliance team is the voice of risk and compliance for Amazon's transportation businesses across 16 regions. We proactively identify and manage risks through risk mitigation strategies and provide assurance that Amazon and our carrier partners comply with the highest transportation and legal standards.
Requirements- 10+ years of experience in risk management, audit, legal, compliance, or a related field.
- BA or BS in business, economics, operations, accounting, finance, policy, IT, or a related field.
- 10+ years of team leadership experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, with proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in both languages.
- Graduate degree.
- Auditing and/or compliance skills, including risk assessments, defining audit roadmaps, audit or risk program design, control environment process documentation, and control mapping.
- Experience managing external agencies.
- Experience managing budgets.
- Understanding of basic data analytical skills and tools such as Tableau, SQL (intermediate to advanced).
- One or more professional certifications - CPA, CISA, CIA, CFE, CCEP, PMP.
- Background in continuous improvement (i.e. 6-sigma, ISO, Total Quality, etc.).
- Proficiency in Portuguese language.
