Job Description:
As a Trade Compliance Director at Adient, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a standardized trade compliance program to ensure all entities comply with customs laws and regulations. This includes the maintenance of customs special programs such as IMMEX, PROSEC, and VAT Certification. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing standard operating procedures and work instructions for the compliance and operational teams. Additionally, you will coordinate customs teams for operational efficiency and effectiveness, respond to customs internal or external audits, and develop annual technical training programs for customs personnel. You will also monitor customs regulatory changes to proactively determine how they may impact Adient's operations. Furthermore, you will provide support in special projects as needed, confirm that Adient has the proper documentation to support all its customs operations, and build a high-performance team. You will also be responsible for continuous oversight of Adient's compliance with all customs laws and regulations, establishing compliance KPIs, and measuring them on a monthly basis. Finally, you will work cross-functionally with the operations team and other Adient areas such as materials, engineering, procurement, legal, IT, finance, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a standardized trade compliance program
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions
• Coordinate customs teams for operational efficiency and effectiveness
• Respond to customs internal or external audits
• Develop annual technical training programs for customs personnel
• Monitor customs regulatory changes
• Provide support in special projects as needed
• Confirm that Adient has the proper documentation to support all its customs operations
• Build a high-performance team
• Establish compliance KPIs and measure them on a monthly basis
• Work cross-functionally with the operations team and other Adient areas
