Main Responsibilities:
- Develop cost models to assist in setting target costs and analyzing supplier pricing to ensure cost targets are met.
- Assess and apply relevant cost data to part-level routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans, and labor standards.
- Provide estimates to supply management and engineering for target costing and supplier negotiation activities.
- Provide insight and assistance to the Strategic Sourcing process and help the team develop strategies for sourcing, negotiations, and decision-making.
- Analyze the impact of cost drivers on globally sourced commodities and assist in the development of terms and conditions.
- Provide industry/market analysis for commodities to assist the sourcing teams in structuring and negotiating long-term agreements and in understanding the cost drivers that affect the volatility or stability of how commodities are priced.
- Develop and maintain cost models to assist the Strategic Sourcing teams in ensuring analyses of all costs are considered during the sourcing, negotiation, and decision-making process.
- Assist engineers and Supply Management personnel in Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) and/or Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP) decisions.
- Independently develop new cost tools/libraries, visit suppliers for gaining cost/manufacturing intelligence, and lead Design to Cost (D2C) efforts.
- Work with Supply Base Managers on cost strategies.
Requirements:
- Proficient English skills (spoken and written)
- Background in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, power systems, etc.)
- Skill in using computer-aided design and/or engineering tools
- Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance, and facilities
- Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
