We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Community Developer to join our team at Canonical. As a Community Developer, you will play a key role in facilitating the growth and success of our open source community.
Key Responsibilities- Support community initiatives with technical skills and strong organizational abilities
- Collaborate with developers to smooth processes and integrate community plans with Canonical plans for maximum impact
- Encourage and facilitate the creation of new technical projects that enhance the community contribution experience
- Represent community interests to Canonical teams
- Provide content and technical support to ensure the community stays engaged and informed
- Communicate effectively with developers and software engineers and represent Canonical as a contributor to the wider Linux ecosystem
- Experience with developer tools and open source projects
- Technical skills with Linux and experience with two or more of the following: Ubuntu Linux - kernel or userspace, DevOps, software development, testing and QA, package management, container technology
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to new technology
- Experience working with open source communities and understanding the workflow of volunteer contributors
