Job Overview

To support our teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're seeking a Central Automation Senior Director (Americas) located in North Campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the automation engineering team to meet automation goals.
  • Design from low to complex automation solutions for Final Assembly, Testing and Packaging.
  • Participate in design reviews.
  • Understand mechanical drawings, electrical and pneumatic diagrams identifying potential risk and errors.
  • Manage projects within budget and time constraints.
  • Willing to travel and collaborate with sites on automation requirements.
  • Forecast diligently on execution plan with competing interests to achieve implementation.
  • Lead startup efforts, commission automation systems and training for engineers and technicians.
  • Implement cost-effective automation with transparent quotation processes.
  • Provide status reports as per established schedules with the ability to drive implementation.
  • Identify and manage areas of risk in design documentation and specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to the operation of the automation equipment.

Requirements

  • BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience.
  • Fluent English.
  • Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
  • Ability to think strategically, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Makes decisions for the function and site, which may affect multiple sites.
  • Recognizes and develops talent as a key element of executing operational business plans.
  • Ensures Flex values are part of site work life.
  • Provides strategic leadership for the function and site.
  • Master's or MBA degree is a plus.
  • Six Sigma or Black Belt is a plus.
