We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineering Team Lead to join our team at Backbase Inc. as an Engineering Manager. In this key leadership position, you will lead a best-in-class, functional team of software engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of software engineers, defining and promoting the team's ways of working, hiring, and training strategies.
  • Work closely with Operations to create an environment where each individual improves both their soft and strong engineering/consulting skills.
  • Manage up to 3 functional teams of software engineers and develop high-level strategic plans for those teams to ensure they are set up for success with the right competencies and energized team dynamics.
  • Surface any anti-pattern or dysfunction that impacts the team's performance and ensure the team works towards solving those.
  • Ensure teams are balanced and deliver software that meets the expectations of our customers while taking all non-functionals like security, performance, maintainability, and reliability into account.
  • Answer technical questions, train and manage your team while working with various other departments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 6+ years of engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team.
  • Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems.
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly.
  • Understanding and experience with Agile methodology.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
  • Open-minded with excellent communication skills.
