About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Canonical. As a key member of our Field Engineering organization, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software-defined networking solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Match customer requirements to advanced capabilities in the VNF/CNF/NFVi/NFVO/VNFM/VIM/MEC space
  2. Provide technical pre-sales consulting to Service Provider teams
  3. Design and implement telco-grade open source multi-tenant private clouds and micro clouds
  4. Deploy cloud solutions for our customers (OpenStack, Kubernetes, MAAS and Ceph)
  5. Investigate, report and/or fix software defects uncovered during customer deployments
  6. Demonstrate advanced Infrastructure as code (IaC) techniques relevant to telco (automation scripting, terraform, etc.)
  7. Learn model-driven operations with Juju charms for Kafka, Hadoop, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, NGINX, and more
  8. Help customers adopt advanced Bare Metal, Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud solutions
  9. Learn from customer engagements and drive meaningful product improvements
  10. Shape our roadmap to accelerate our growth in the telco market
Requirements
  1. Python software development experience (mandatory - intermediate level)
  2. Terraform automation experience
  3. A thorough understanding of the telco NFVi (VIM), NFVO, VNFM and MEC space
  4. Technical understanding of key telco technologies like CPU Pinning, NUMA, SRIOV, DPDK, etc
  5. A thorough working understanding of the architectures and infrastructure of MNOs and CSPs
  6. Working knowledge of Mobile Packet Core, Radio, VAS, OSS/BSS
  7. Understanding of best practices for open source technology in telco virtualisation
  8. Working knowledge of Linux, Openstack and Kubernetes networking
  9. A passion to automate and improve all aspects of open source products and tooling
  10. Ability to lead complex projects from start to finish
  11. A collaborative attitude with a keen eye on customer success
  12. Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  13. Able to travel up to 50% of the time for events, customer meetings, project delivery
