**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Windows and Virtualization Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in monitoring tools, patching tools, backup tools, and hybrid cloud environments.

**Responsibilities:**

- Continuously monitor system performance metrics and take proactive actions to improve operations.
- Review system log files, analyze trends, and implement configuration changes to maintain high availability and scalability.
- Collaborate with architects to design and implement system upgrades and propose innovative technologies.
- Ensure architectural consistency and provide technical direction through roadmap processes, knowledge management, and disaster recovery planning.
- Create documentation for system changes and reference architecture for global operation teams.

**Key Responsibilities Include:**

- Defining, designing, and implementing core system hardware and operating system solutions.
- Working with customers to gather requirements and propose system solutions.
- Researching and partnering with vendors to select products that meet company needs.
- Managing system setup, standardization, and maintenance of features and usage.
- Installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining hardware and operating system solutions.

**System Maintenance:**

- Maintaining systems by keeping them tuned and compliant with company standards for optimum performance and capacity utilization.
- Implementing OS, software, and firmware patches and upgrades.
- Coordinating planned downtime and software installs of assigned servers.
- Communicating system status and coordinating maintenance activities.

**Customer Support:**

- Providing 24x7 on-call technical support and expertise for customer issues and service provider escalation.
- Monitoring the environment for potential system issues and resolving them appropriately.
- Adhering to the change management process for planned maintenance or identified issues.
- Providing training for new team members, computer services staff, and external support teams.

**Operational Health:**

- Establishing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards to ensure operational health (security, availability, performance, interoperability, and reliability).
- Planning strategies for minimizing service outages and reducing their impact on business operations.
- Adhering to Micron's established processes and policies.

**Improving Operations:**

- Defining and adhering to established service and operational level agreements.
- Collecting, monitoring, reporting, and interpreting operating metrics.
- Evaluating and testing new software for compatibility with the computing environment.
- Proposing and implementing system enhancements to improve performance and reliability.

**Security and Access:**

- Partnering with service providers and other IT teams to maintain user accounts, login scripts, and group additions.
- Adhering to Micron's security policies for all managed services.
- Regularly auditing systems to ensure compliance with security requirements.

**Future Demands:**

- Analyzing operating statistics to project future demands for service.
- Benchmarking best practices where appropriate.
- Developing cost-effective solutions to meet future demands.
- Communicating and collaborating with peer groups to evolve the computing environment.
