We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at John Deere. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for proposing structural component and mechanism designs to meet project requirements and creating accurate and functional CAD models.
Main Responsibilities- Lead CAD model preparation for virtual validation (FEA, CFD, etc.), coordinating reviews with analysis teams and proposing design solutions to ensure optimized designs.
- Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design.
- Order experimental parts through internal acquisition service.
- Create work instructions for experimental builds.
- Work together with senior engineers to define and document test plans.
- Document and propose solutions to field issues.
- Change implementation in the factory and part lifecycle management.
- Drafting and print creation using GD&T.
- Analyze assignments and determine engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for complex problems or projects of moderate scope.
- Provide work instructions to support engineers, and actively involved in their training, coaching, and continuous development.
- Skill in using computer-aided design and/or engineering tools.
- Skill in using company information systems and processes.
- Knowledge in engineering principles, theory, and practice as well as product knowledge.
- Understanding of engineering principles as they relate to the company product.
- Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to the specific job assignment and company division/unit.
- Knowledge/familiarity with machines manufactured by competitors.
- Knowledge of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise Technology Development process (ETDP), and/or Enterprise Customer Acquisition Process (ECAP).
- Structural design, mechanics of materials, mechanism design/analysis.
- Strong analytic skills.
- Results-oriented.
- Proactivity.
- Fluent in English.
