About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our team at Resideo, a leading global provider of critical comfort and security solutions. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will play a key role in designing and developing thermostats and other related smart home IoT products.

Key Responsibilities
  • NPI Project Hardware Design: Participate in NPI project hardware design, including schematic design, PCB layout, BOM release, prototype build, debugging, engineering testing, and QA & Agency support.
  • Testing and Validation: Collaborate closely with the test design department to perform testing, collect data, and validate electrical designs.
  • Deliver Hardware Designs: Deliver hardware designs on time to project schedules that meet customer requirements.
  • Global Collaboration: Engage in conference meetings with global teams to coordinate project progress.
  • Collaboration with Other Functions: Collaborate with other engineering functions, product management, suppliers, plant personnel, and other stakeholders to develop and implement low-cost design solutions, methods, and product improvements, and to support build programs for platform, major, and minor product development projects.
  • Design Analysis and Feasibility Studies: Perform design analysis (analog/Digital), feasibility studies, component selection, and schematic capture.
  • Engineering Changes: Implement engineering changes.
  • Component Specifications and Engineering Drawings: Manage and approve component specifications and engineering drawings and release parts and subsystems for production.
  • Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation of designs, processes, and test results to maintain clear communication and traceability.
  • Solving Engineering-Related Problems: Solve engineering-related problems.
  • Product Development and Test Programs: Plan and implement product development and test programs.
  • Communication: Communicate information to and from internal and external customers.
  • Travel: Travel as required (domestic & international).
Requirements
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in product development.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge in electronics product design, development, validation, and document release.
  • NPI Phase Gate and ECRO Change Management: Working knowledge of NPI Phase Gate and ECRO Change Management processes.
  • PCB Layout and Simulation Tools: Knowledge with any PCB layout tool (Mentor Graphics Expedition or equivalent), analog simulation (LT Spice or equivalent), typical lab tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, power supplies, multimeters, etc.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting Skills: Good testing and troubleshooting skills.
  • Analytical Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Ability: Good analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Electronics Manufacturing Methods: Good knowledge of electronics manufacturing methods.
  • English Proficiency: English proficiency.
