Key Responsibilities- Manage facilities requests based on geography, scope, and/or discipline.
- Provide leadership and management of construction and renovation projects.
- Ensure good communications and act as liaison between internal customers and service providers.
- Use good project management skills to maintain control of projects, contractors, and employees.
- Prepare proposals for facilities-related work and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in space and services optimization.
- Responsible for the overall maintenance of plant equipment on a daily basis.
- Maintain all systems, including monitoring and keeping appropriate logs and measurements as required by site or local/governmental regulations.
- Ensure compliance to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standards.
- Plan and implement a site risk assessment and evaluation program and process.
- Recommend measures for control of hazardous conditions such as radiation, noise, and toxic materials.
- Conduct training and communication programs in areas such as hazard communication, personal protective equipment use, hazardous materials response, chemical safety, radiation safety, laser safety, and noise exposure.
- Investigate the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions that may affect employee health, comfort, or efficiency.
- Select vendors to, or perform sampling of, dusts, gases, vapors, or other potentially toxic materials.
- Prepare reports, including observations, analysis of contaminants, and recommendations for control and correction of hazards.
- Track and interpret regulations to ensure compliance.
- Identify if and when additional processes and guidelines are needed and ensure implementation.
- Review and approve process changes and purchasing requests for new chemicals and capital equipment to reduce the use of hazardous substances and minimize liability.
- Work with Occupational Health Nurse and Consulting Physician to institute biological monitoring for potentially hazardous conditions and equipment.
- Ensure compliance to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standards.
- In-depth knowledge of facilities management and operations.
- Understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations, programs (local and government), including ISO 14001 requirements.
- Good organization and project management skills.
- Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot problems.
- Ability to gather and analyze data and determine root cause of problems.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers.
- Current CPR certification and Registered Nurse license required for OH Nurse position.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation laws.
- Duties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Two to Four years relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Educational requirements may vary by geography.
