This position encompasses the support, maintenance, and configuration of network and security systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN appliances, and SaaS solutions that facilitate our internet, LAN, and WAN operations. Daily interaction with our monitoring and reporting services is also a key component of this role.
The Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer is expected to foster professional relationships with internal and external colleagues, stakeholders, management, partners, and vendors. Participation in an on-call rotation is required, along with the use of a company-issued smartphone. Travel may be necessary, up to 10%.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee, maintain, and support Wyndham's global network and security systems, both in daily operations and in alignment with key projects. Execute change control and device configuration management for all network and security systems. Provide management-level reports on firewall, proxy, and Intrusion Protection System (IPS) activity regularly. Engage in security incident response activities, implementing tactical risk mitigation strategies. Collaborate with business units to develop network and security solutions that meet customer needs while adhering to established processes and standards. Work closely with fellow Network Engineers, IT Architects, analysts, and external partners to assess, develop, and propose innovative technologies and methodologies aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness. Coordinate technical support between Network & Security Services and other IT engineering teams, facilitating system maintenance, installation, and modifications. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule as required.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience. Advanced expertise with Cisco IOS, NXOS, Palo Alto PANOS, and Cloud Proxy Solutions (Zscaler preferred). Proficient in dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and RIP, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting in complex environments. Relevant certifications: CCNP, PCNSE, and AWS certifications are highly valued. Familiarity with NetDevOps and/or SecDevOps practices for infrastructure management (Python, Ansible, Terraform, bash scripting, etc.). Experience with Splunk or similar SEIM platforms (CrowdStrike LogScale is a plus). Understanding of SOX/PCI/PII standards and regulations for compliance. Additional knowledge in wireless networking and network monitoring (SolarWinds HCO is a plus). 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a mid-to-large enterprise with 24x7 operational environments.Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
