Job Summary

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of design technicians, prioritizing their work, establishing daily goals, tracking accomplishments, and identifying training needs.
  • Create 3D CAD models, CAD assemblies, and detail drawings that describe products, conforming to departmental drafting practices.
  • Develop associated bills of material using current computer software programs.
  • Maintain and update assembly and detail drawings for existing products, ensuring they conform to industry standards using Inventor/AutoCAD.
  • Set up components in the system for ordering and upload new parts to MRP/ERP systems.
Requirements
  • Unfinished or in-process university degree, preferably in engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in 3D modeling.
  • Ability to analyze technical documents and specifications to understand critical requirements.
  • BOM/MRP/ERP experience.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Fluent bilingual English-Spanish (written and spoken).
  • General knowledge of how an ERP system works.
  • 3D modeling experience (Autocad, Inventor, Solidworks, Creo, Catia, etc).
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement.
  • Proficiency with various computer software and applications such as Excel, Word, MS Project, Minitab, and Outlook.
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and take initiative to solve problems.
