About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automated Process Technician to join our team at Corning. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting our integrated processes in the production system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime in automatic equipment.
  • Maintenance Documentation: Document maintenance and repair activities for each type of equipment.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead root cause analysis and work on process improvements to reduce defects.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Analyze information and create reports to show trends on utilization and efficiency.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate activities with support teams, maintaining clear and open lines of communication.
  • 5S Practices: Implement 5S practices to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • KPIV and KPOV Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIV) and key process variables (KPOV) for the process and control.
  • Risk Identification: Identify risks in the area and escalate to take action.
  • Daily Gemba Activity: Conduct daily gemba activity to identify process opportunities and complete actions.
  • Process Improvements: Implement process improvements to increase control level in equipment.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Develop projects for cost reduction using lean manufacturing methodologies and tools.
  • NPI Validation: Validate new product introductions (NPI) in the process, considering safety, tooling, and process capability.
  • Tooling Design: Design tooling or fixtures to improve process performance.
  • Equipment Analysis: Work on reducing equipment alarms and failures by analyzing data.
  • TPM Checklists: Monitor TPM checklists to ensure they are filled correctly.
  • Procedure Updates: Require updates of procedures and documentation that impact the process.
Requirements
  • Education: Electromechanical, Mechatronic, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics engineering degree or equivalent combination of engineering degrees.
  • Work Experience: 5 years of operation experience in a similar role.
Preferred Skills
  • Cutting Processes: Basic understanding of punching theory, tooling, and effects in different metal types.
  • Bending Processes: Basic understanding of metal forming (bending) theory, concepts, and tooling, and effects in different metal types.
  • Automatic Bending Processes: Knowledge and skills in bending processes, robot programming, and control by TPC.
