Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team, responsible for designing and building large-scale distributed software services and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software design and development, with experience in backend services and cloud computing. The successful candidate will be able to drive projects through to delivery, remove obstacles as needed, and ensure success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop large-scale distributed software services and solutions.
  • Drive projects through to delivery, removing obstacles as needed to ensure success.
  • Contribute to the development of common patterns and influence the development of related areas.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with related teams to achieve goals.
Requirements
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent years of work experience.
  • 5-7 years of software design and development experience with backend services.
  • 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in any Object-Oriented coding language such as C++, C#, Java or Python, or equivalent experience with C.
  • Global collaboration is integral to our work at Microsoft. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication in this role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate technical details clearly.
  • Experience in DevOps to maintain live services and/or application frameworks.
  • Cloud and services experience, with Azure cloud experience highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills with systematic and structured approach to software design.
  • Passion for building reliable and well-tested services.
  • Experience with or exposure to Agile and iterative development processes.
