Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist will play a key role in the Indirect Procurement organization at American Standard, driving process improvements and achieving targeted customer service levels. This position requires a self-starter with strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and exceptional multi-tasking skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure materials, equipment, supplies, and services for various categories, including Marketing, Financial Services, Information Technology, Leasing, Facilities, Energy, Consulting, Telecommunications, and general office procurement requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, focusing on supplier consolidation and leveraging spend across LIXIL Americas organizations.
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigate sources of supply, prepare RFP specifications, issue RFPs, and review responses.
  • Lead the supplier selection process through objective scorecard ratings.
  • Examine and analyze departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information.
  • Develop, communicate, and drive category strategies in collaboration with stakeholders, internal Procurement team members, and suppliers.
  • Identify and select suppliers to procure requisitioned products and services, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality, and delivery date and place orders.
  • Resolve purchasing problems between internal departments and suppliers.
  • Communicate procurement policies and procedures to internal stakeholders and suppliers as required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of procurement processes across a broad spectrum of indirect procurement products and services.
  • Strong Procurement experience in Information Technology and/or Finance categories is a plus.
  • Experience using the Ariba modules (Sourcing, Contracts, P2P, and SLP) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering presentations to senior management.
  • Skilled in both verbal and written communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and on own initiative.
  • Results-oriented, innovative, influential, and adaptable team player.
  • Self-starter with excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to provide quick responses to changes in customer needs.
  • Able to build and maintain strong supplier and internal customer relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • At least four years of experience in Sourcing, Procurement, or Supplier Management.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
