About the Role

We are seeking a talented Scent Design Manager to join our IFF Scent Mexico team. As a key member of our creative leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the Laundry and Home Care categories to support our project and innovation pipeline.

Your Focus

As Scent Design Manager, you will oversee all aspects of product design, including building the innovation strategy, leveraging consumer insights, and IFF technologies in Fabric and Home care. You will also manage the pipeline and service the innovation needs of one of our global accounts, collaborating closely with the Commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovation strategies that bring competitive product solutions to win business and position IFF as the innovation leader.
  • Partner with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure fragrance strategies align to overall business objectives.
  • Consistently drive process, discipline, and effective execution to bring the desired speed to market.
  • Maintain regional or global visibility, both internally and externally.
  • Support the principles of the learning organization and develop deep understanding of market, consumer, and customer needs aligned with innovation and project needs.
  • Manage Scent Design Associate(s) and guarantee clear development plans, building on people's strengths and mentor multi-disciplinary talent.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Fragrance, Marketing, Business, or any other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in an international environment.
  • Excellent olfactive communication skills, which support the overall creative process – discriminate, describe (association), and odor memory.
  • Ability to effectively identify potential fragrances based on market relevance.
  • Manage the execution of the olfactive strategy by providing creative direction and (olfactive) guidance to Perfumers in order to stimulate creativity.
  • Solid understanding of functional and technical capabilities, including knowledge of consumers and different markets.
  • Excellent influencing skills across levels within the organization.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills.
  • Open-minded, willing to embrace diversity with strong agility.
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-changing environment and manage pressure.
  • Curious approach, enjoy difficult challenges.
  • Capability in creating compelling communication to teams or stakeholders to drive strategy.
  • Team player, ability to motivate others to achieve results and execute effectively.
  • English language fluency, other language proficiency is a plus.
  • Willing to travel.
