About the Role:

LEONI is seeking an experienced Component Designer to join our team in Mexico. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing high-quality electrical components for the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate system, component, and part requirements using relevant methods and tools.
  • Create concepts for electrical components, including attachments, high-voltage, low-voltage, and grommets.
  • Conduct design reviews and transfer findings into product design.
  • Define test and validation plans and evaluate test results.
  • Prepare and release the bill of materials (engineering bill of materials).
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and design trends in the electrical component industry.
  • Evaluate product change requests and provide solutions.
  • Define technical requirements for prototypes.
  • Identify cost-saving potential (using Value Analysis and Engineering) and coordinate implementation where appropriate.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project, sales, and operations.
  • Participate in component projects from design concept through series launch to the end of lifecycle.
  • Review design data and release engineering design.
  • Support technical customer presentations.
  • Be the contact person for technical matters, both internally and as a service partner for customers and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is desired.
  • Proficiency in engineering design tools and Microsoft Office.
  • English language proficiency at C1 level.
