Job Summary

At Intuitive, we are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for procuring MRO supplies, materials, equipment, and services while ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage procurement of indirect materials to support business requirements, including purchase order management, sourcing, support contract negotiations, spend analysis, inventory management, and supplier performance management.
  • Leverage enterprise tools and systems to drive continuous improvement techniques, identify and complete key procurement initiatives, and enhance the performance of the purchasing function.
  • Facilitate and lead bids process, analysis, and negotiations for goods and services.
  • Analyze data, quotes comparison, discrepancies, and opportunities deeply to propose to clients; suggest supplier selection, visualize future activities within each of the suppliers participating and potential risks, work with suppliers to clear doubts and improve proposals as required.
  • Create a specific strategy for each of the commodities handled, based on company needs and procedures in conjunction with internal and external involved teams.
  • Accurate and timely processing of all purchase orders according to ISI standard process.
  • Manage the day-to-day business relationship with key suppliers through supporting activities including ordering, communication of demand/volume/delivery time changes, issues resolution, sharing of end-user feedback, and follow up on backorders.
  • Effectively communicate expectations and needs to users and suppliers, solve problems, and provide results.
  • Develop a strong understanding and knowledge of suppliers and capabilities.
  • Assist with contract development and execution.
  • Capable of deep diving into problems, proposing solutions, creating actions, following up, and providing satisfactory quantitative results.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of goods and services that meet the quality, service, and price performance standards of the company.
  • Create, follow up, and supervise Supplier KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for those key suppliers of the organization.
  • Identify, prioritize, and impact key business opportunities.
  • Capable of leading groups, motivating, and organizing activities to meet goals.
  • Work closely with other departments to expedite receiving and Purchase Requisition processes.
  • Establish excellent internal and external relations based on good communications, well-established ideas, and direction.
  • Serve as an escalation point to resolve problems within the Purchase Requisition.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of current processes.
  • Actively participate in company programs to develop skills, knowledge, and company acumen.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, in both Spanish and English.
  • Demonstrate excellent self-confidence to make decisions, provide ideas, and solve problems.
  • Embrace continuous improvement techniques to drive toward attainment of key purchasing metrics (supplier on-time delivery, quality, savings, etc.), using lean methods such as Kaizen events, Yellow and Green Belt methodologies, among others as applicable.
  • Leverage problem-solving skills and develop countermeasures to implement long-term solutions to identified problems.
  • Coordinate with strategic purchasing on price changes due to cost reduction initiatives, volume pricing, or requests by suppliers.
  • May mentor colleagues within the supply chain organization.
  • May act as Supervisor or Manager backup as required.
  • Support assigned commodity team by identifying and driving closure of risk mitigation and cost reduction opportunities, understanding commodity trends across the market, mentoring teammates, and supporting commodity projects as assigned.
  • Support Strategic Purchasing with the creation, negotiation, and management of commercial agreements covering cost, quality, and delivery terms.
