Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our team at Buscojobs México.

About the Role:

  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain goods, materials, and services at the best prices by using sourcing strategies and extensive knowledge of their commodity industry.
  • Develop strategies to guarantee materials and services supply on time for an effective facility operation (lead time reduction, cost saving, dual sourcing, etc.).
  • Sourcing suppliers and maintaining long-lasting relationships with them as well as existing suppliers.
  • Implementing inventory optimization strategies within the company.
  • Obtaining quotes from different suppliers.
  • Negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Working with legal counsel to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation.
  • Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns.
  • Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on the quotes.
  • Providing solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in administration, industrial engineer, logistics, supply chain or related field.
  • English 80% MANDATORY.
  • Proficient on Microsoft Project Management (certification is a plus).
  • Certification in APICS and/or ISM is desired.
  • 3-5 years of experience or equivalent in the sourcing or supply chain department.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment (electronic environment is a plus).
  • Proven experience in sourcing processes and projects.
  • Proficiency in microsoft word, powerpoint, excel, and outlook.
  • Commodity management.
  • Supplier management.
  • A thorough understanding of sourcing methodologies.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Sound time-management and organizational skills.
  • Proven work experience as a Sourcing Specialist, commodity buyer or similar role.
